Rokujouma no Shinryakusha - episode 8 - where Steven gets his wish

In this post, Steven describes a few series from where he is pulling images for his (very cool) rotation. One of the shows is Rokujouma no Shinryakusha. To borrow a quote:

"As a joke she's something of a one-trick pony and I really wish she'd prove to everyone else that she's really magical so they'd stop being cruel to her."

The magical girl's name is Yurika Nijino, and Episode 8 is her spotlight. Another magical girl enters the picture and Yurika knows her. She is trying to warn everyone but, as Steven said, no one believes she is a magical girl and figures the two are cosplaying friends. They even scold her for treating a friend like that.

Why don't they believe her? Good question. you have a double D dirt dweller, a tsundere space princess, a grating ghost. That's all fine and dandy, but a mopey, manic mahou girl? That's just crazy!

The potential love interest student Steven talks about - Harumi Sakarabe -  has been making appearances every episode. Although she is not often the focus, she seems to be very important in the scheme of things. In a past episode, she and Yurika became friends and Yurika used her magic to cure Haraumi of her disease. Harumi does not know this, but instantly feels more refreshed than she has been in a long time. In this episode, she confesses her crush on the MC to Yurika, who herself has mixed feelings about him. However, the evil magical girl notices their relationship and captures Harumi.

Noting Yurika's extra melancholy funk (due to no one believing her very important warnings), our MC expresses his concern. and the double D dirt dweller leaves one of her totem pole lackeys to keep tabs on her. They find out that she has left the apartment. Our Hero tracks her, accompanied by the ghost character, who uses him as a sort of medium to physically experience the world, to a building under construction. A barrier is placed around it which our MC seems to be able to penetrate with no problem. The ghost girl can't do it, until the MC grabs her hand and pulls her through. This another of the many small things we see the MC do that adds up to an unusual character.

After a while, the MC and ghost girl are finally convinced that Yurika is actually who she says she is. It seems as if it is too late, however . Things being what they are in these shows, there should be hope for the future.

By the way, the voicing in the show is pretty good considering there are a bunch of newcomers to the field. Harumi is voiced by Megumi Takamoto, also voiced Winry in Fullmetal Alchemist. One of the totem poles is voiced by Aoi Yuki, who previously voiced Madoka Kaname. Yuuichi Nakamura who voices our MC, Satomi Koutaro also voiced Tomoya Okazaki in Clannad.

Newcomers include our spotlight character Yurika Nijino voiced by  Nichika Oomori and Theiamillia Gre Fortorthe, another room dweller voiced by  Maria Naganawa.

The show is getting better and better, but at only twelve episodes, I don't see how it can get much deeper in explaining why our MC can do the things he does. It is based on a Light Novel, but I do not see it on Baka Tsuki and I am unaware of other translation sites, so it will be awhile before we see the rest of the story.
